Here's to wishing a safe and happy Halloween to everyone!

At Confectionary Designs this is one of our favorite 'holidays' to make treats for. Cookies can be especially creative. Below is a photo of our haunted mansion cake we did for a dance party. Everything on our topsy-turvey mansion is edible, including the background! All the little details, like the 'flying' witch on her broom, took us forever, but we think it was well worth the work.

NJ Baby Shower Cakes

Pam and I both agree one of our favorite themes for cakes is a Baby Shower. The design ideas are unlimited. Here are two of our baby shower cakes.

This cake was designed after the invitation - a baby sleeping atop a puff of clouds, edible booties and baby blocks.

The inspiration for this cake was taken from one of Debbie Brown's books. The dragon and egg shells are carved from cake.

What's better than an real Harley-Davidson motorcycle? How about an edible Harley? We loved making this cake! The cake is made to look like a tire, a royal-icing plaque, airbrushed flames, and a gumpaste Harley for the birthday boy!

NJ Engagement Cake

This is probably one of our favorite cakes we've made. It was made for a very special couple for their engagement party held at the Palisadium in Cliffside Park, NJ. We worked closely with http://www.thefinishingtouchevents.com/ , an amazing event planner, to make sure the cake was designed to complement the venue perfectly.

Cream, light silver, and pink really make this cake elegant!
