We all enjoy making a fuss over a new baby, even before the little bundle of joy arrives! We 'shower' the parents-to-be with well wishes and gifts. Not only is a baby shower a way to congratulate the parents, it also helps family and friends feel connected to the big event.

"It's A Girl" Baby Shower Dessert Table

This vintage baby shower dessert table was designed for an intimate gathering of the expecting mother’s family and friends. We created a custom-designed gift box cake, sugar cookies, chocolate bon-bons, a chocolate box filled with sugared almonds, cake truffles, mint cream filled chocolate eggs, and hand-dipped madeleine cookies.

 

 

A Fairy Tale Baby Shower - NJ Bakery

 

We were thrilled to create this baby shower cake for a very special couple. The theme for the party was 'Fairy Tales' and there are so many great fairy tales it was hard to come up with titles to use! All figurines are modelled using gumpaste and the book titles were hand painted.

When I arrived at the venue to deliver this cake I was blown away by the decor. The Finishing Touch, a company specializing in wedding and special events planning, had transformed a plain room into a magical fairy tale! Please see the photos below for just a peek at the set-up:

NJ Baby Shower Cakes

Pam and I both agree one of our favorite themes for cakes is a Baby Shower. The design ideas are unlimited. Here are two of our baby shower cakes.

This cake was designed after the invitation - a baby sleeping atop a puff of clouds, edible booties and baby blocks.

The inspiration for this cake was taken from one of Debbie Brown's books. The dragon and egg shells are carved from cake.
